Apply now : workspace & studios

Are you looking for a space to work in 2021?

Available June 2021 – apply by Friday 14 May, 5pm (form at bottom of page)

Offices, co-working area, artist studios and rehearsal space at St Anne’s House, a new creative community hub in St Anne’s, Brislington.

We have a mix of workspaces, both private offices, partitioned studios and desk spaces ranging in size, and all priced at affordable rates. As well as your own workspace, you’ll have use of shared kitchens and social areas.

St Anne’s House is in St Anne’s, just next to the River Avon, an 8-minute cycle from Temple Meads.

Who will be there?

We want to build a vibrant community including ‘Work Near Home’ local residents and artists/creatives from across the city. We’ll be Covid-secure, and we will bring people together safely, to create, collaborate and start opening up our communities once again!

We will provide workspace for local groups, artists, social enterprises and community organisations. We are also creating spaces for hire for community activities, meetings, health & wellbeing, rehearsal space and creative projects. Read more about the wider St Anne’s House project here.

In addition to your workspace, you will help shape our new creative community, with access to a growing programme of events and projects in the building.

St Anne’s House is fully accessible for wheelchair users with access to the upper floors via a lift.

How much is a workspace?

Rates range but here’s an idea of some:

  • £105 per month (for a large desk space in a spacious co-working area)
  • £136 per month (for a 15m2 standard studio)
  • £405 per month (for a 34m2 private office).

Our pricing includes all utilities, generous proportions and we’ve kept our rates affordable in relation to city and national rates.

The spaces as per suggested layout are big, and we appreciate that some people may want smaller spaces – so do let us know on your application if you want a smaller space/ to split one of the larger spaces with others.

We have a 12-month lease from Bristol City Council for St Anne’s House. We cannot guarantee use of the space past June 2022, but we hope we’ll be able to occupy the building beyond the 12 months while the longterm future of the site is decided and prepared.

The floor plan shows the proposed location and approximate size of each space in m2: partition walls are not yet built so there is flexibility to redesign elements of this plan, depending on applicants’ needs. It is also possible to share a space between two applicants, please reference this clearly in your application.

I want to look around – can I?

You can visit our spaces virtually through this video, but note that we have not yet got in to clear up and build partition walls, so you will need to use your imagination!

This image gives an idea of our standard partitioned studio (studio 13 on the floor plan), which is very generously proportioned, with steady north light and ample room for wall, desk and floor space for a flexible making space.

How do I get there?

There is limited onsite parking, and the 36 route bus stop is visible from and adjacent to the building. The building will be secure and our reception will be supervised 7 days a week.

The large open spaces are going to be artist studios partitioned with stud walls. As with the video you need to use your imagination while we get set up!
