Bricks will have an active public programme built on two pillars:
Championing creatives based in Bristol and,
Making projects that are with, for and of communities in the city.
In consultation with our communities Bricks will create a programming policy and appoint a programming committee including artists, steering group members, community members and trustees.
The programming committee will select project proposals based on the programming policy.
Our current thinking sees two public exhibition/project spaces:
Projects initiated by people in Bristol, could be established artists or new talent, a community group initiating a partnership or the product of an ongoing collaboration.
Projects will have value to locality, be project funded and change quarterly.
Project space for works in progress, changed weekly or monthly and much more flexibly run. Devolved programming direct to artists.
We are really keen to hear from artists, producers and curators that would be interested in working with us on this space. See below.
Artist SPACE EXCHANGE Programme
We are also interested in exploring the exchange of regional artist projects nationally and providing space that would bring projects to Bristol and export projects from Bristol nationally to increase artists connectivity across the country.

We want to hear what you think of these ideas to ensure we create something that is of use to the communities we look to serve.
The plans outlined here are just the first iteration based on conversations with local and artistic communities - but now we are widening this out and want to get as much feedback on the ideas as possible.
As part of our next stage of development we will be reaching out to consult further with local and artistic communities to discover the needs, collect data on current situation and start to co-design solutions.
Let us know what you think about the exhibition/ project plans here, or see the Feedback page to give broader feedback and ideas on the plan.
