Public Art Producing

Bricks is a Bristol based non-profit that works in a number of ways to support local and creative communities. We believe in the civic role of artists and in championing local talent.

Bristol is a creative powerhouse with world class artists and future greats, by drawing on local talent we can maximise development’s local impact, create artworks that are loved by their communities and support the next generation of artists to thrive.

Our approach to public art commissioning is to facilitate a creative, collaborative process between project teams (developers, architects, planners) side by side with artists and local communities.

We are interested in both the creation of permanent and temporary artworks and creation of creative infrastructure – a really exciting new aspect to public art through planning conditions.

This delivers great value for the development and ensures that solutions are grown from place and embedded in the locality.
