Jack Gibbon

Jack is a producer and organisation director with a passion for supporting cross sector creative collaborations and developing the ecology for visual arts practice in Bristol.

Jack founded Bricks has a dual role both as director/ CEO and as an active producer on Bricks projects.

Additionally, Jack is co-lead of the Cultural Spaces Workgroup of the Bristol DIY Arts Network.

2010 – 2018 Jack ran nomadic art gallery Antlers supporting Bristol based artists through pop up exhibitions, partnership commissions, consultancy and publishing. Antlers focused on supporting artists to explore a new side of their practice often encouraging some form of stretch.

2017 – 2019 Jack worked on the research and development for Bricks, exploring new models to support artists in Bristol, this work was supported by Arts Council England through Grants for Arts, Arts Fundraising and Philanthropy Fellowship and Postgraduate Certificate, University of Leeds, Clore Leadership Short Course and Creative United’s Prosper.

Jack also works as a freelance producer/ curator for organisations that have included The Architecture Centre, National Trust and Studio Upstairs.

2012 – 2018 Jack ran Gallery Spaces facilitating the use of otherwise empty retail spaces by creative projects around Bristol.

Prior to 2010 Jack worked as a studio assistant for Damien Hirst and was a practising artist involved in artist led projects in Stroud.
